Julia Fischer
Yulianna Avdeeva
Overview
German violinist Julia Fischer and Russian pianist Yulianna Avdeeva are without a doubt two brilliant performers, at the height of their powers. In addition to their demanding international activity as soloists, both artists have in common a great love for chamber music, which they serve with equal dedication and success. Their joint appearance in Athens is considered a musical “summit meeting”, which no music lover can afford to miss. Their collaboration becomes even more interesting thanks to the amazingly wide-ranging repertoire they perform, from Beethoven’s youthful First sonata for violin and piano, full of freshness and adventurous in mood, to Franck’s epic Sonata for violin and piano, a work emblematic of the ideals of Romanticism.
