The organist of Megaron the Athens Concert Hall, Ourania Gassiou, faithful to her established Christmas appointment, invites the audience to the great hall with the imposing and evocative sounds of the organ. The festive programme could not have been without composers such as Bach and Handel, or works appropriate to the occasion, such as Corelli’s Christmas Concerto. Johann Kaspar Fischer is also present this time with his suite Ourania (written as if especially for our organist). In the second part of the concert, the soloist leads us down more alternative paths, with tango rhythms, cinematic music and, as always, many beloved Christmas melodies and carols from around the world.
