A FASCINATING DIALOGUE BETWEEN MAN AND MACHINE. The leading Paris-based IRCAM Research Institute in collaboration with the Laboratory of Music Acoustics and Technology (LABMAT) of the Department of Music Studies of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens present the Somax 2 system at the Megaron in a concert that takes the audience on a journey into the emerging world of the coexistence of musical creation, performance and artificial intelligence. The Somax 2 system is now an international benchmark. Under the guidance of its creator, distinguished researcher and IRCAM research director Gerard Assayag, it listens, understands and interacts in real time with the musicians playing and creating on stage. Telemachus Moussa and small ensembles from the postgraduate programme “Music Technology and Contemporary Practices” present a unique combination of new compositions where explosive energy and polyrhythms dominate, linking jazz, world music, rock and classical music with new technologies.
