Animegaron 2024-25: Gabriel Farilekas – Third Prize (Greece)
Gabriel Farilekas is a composer, arranger, sound designer, sound artist, computer scientist and educator. His artistic work includes interactive sound installations, music for theatre and short films, electroacoustic and algorithmic compositions, songs and sound design. He studied Applied Informatics at the University of Macedonia, as well as piano and advanced music theory (Macedonian, Ethniko and Athens Conservatories). He holds two master’s degrees: in Advanced Informatics and Computing Systems (University of Piraeus) and in Music Technology (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). Ηe teaches Computer Science and Music at the Gerakas Art School. He has written 2 books: “Apollo and Nefeli travel to Europe at Christmas” and, recently, “Journey to Music Schools” (Gaitanos Publications), a guide for the entrance exams to Music Schools. In May 2024 he was awarded with 3rd prize for composition for short animation in an international competition, organized by Megaron the Athens Concert Hall.
